How to Use This Theme

• Armor of God. Withstanding attacks from this world’s principalities and powers requires that we put on the whole armor of God, from the belt of truth to the helmet of salvation. If we’re to stand against the devil’s schemes, we need to dress up. (Ephesians 6:10:18)
• Grace. We live in a world in which people seek to earn treats from God by doing good things-“tricks” -and expecting rewards. But grace is a gift that God gives us, irrespective of our effort. (Luke 17:5-10)
• Identity. Beneath the outer costumes that we put on to fool the world into giving us treats, it becomes apparent that love is our only identity in Christ. “They will know we are Christians by our love.” (John 13:34-35)
• Virtues. As Christ’s followers, we are to clothe ourselves in the peace of Jesus Christ, with the virtues of compassion, kindness, gentleness, humility and patience. As we dress up in these “garments,” above all we should put on love. (Col 3:12-14)
