How to Use This Theme

• Discipleship. Becoming like Christ is the goal of our lives as disciples. Jesus is the bull’s eye, the “Way, Truth and Life.” (John 14:5-12)
• Focus. Jesus asks us to remove the distractions that keep us from knowing Christ, as Martha experienced in the famous biblical story. (Luke 10:38-42)
• Setting Goals. Keeping a focus on the target is reminiscent of Paul’s language for sticking to spiritual goals. (Philippians 3:12-17)
• Sin. A classic understanding of sin is “missing the mark.” In fact, the term “sin” is the actual archery word for an archer who completely misses the target. (Rom 3:9-20, 23)
