Media Shout 5 – What’s to come?

 width=

Worship planners everywhere are discovering the power of worship presentation software, and as time goes on the applications keep getting better.

From the ability to integrate multiple translations of the Bible, to the ability to play DVDs right off the drive in the computer, to great organizational structure and so much more, Media Shout 4 has just about everything you could want in worship software.

MediaShout, which we bundle with $200 in free media, is a popular item in our store and we’re excited to see users getting more and more sofisticated in their use of graphics and video in worship, but with version 4 now out on the market, how can MediaShout make the next version better?

That’s what we’d like to hear from you. If you’re a MediaShout user, what features do you feel are missing? If you could add anything else in version 5, what would you add? Or, do you think they shouldn’t fix what isn’t broken and leave it pretty much like it is now? They’re watching, so here’s your chance to sound off!

I personally am not sure that Media Complete is ready to begin working on Version 5. Sure version 4 has been out for several months but it is so full of bugs and unfilled promises. Before beginning work on version 5, Media Complete, please fix version 4.

    Rediz,

MediaShout 4.5 is coming soon – sometime in the second quarter of the year. While it has a few new features, it is primarily a stability and performance upgrade.

We’re big Media Shout Fans here – but there are always little things that would make it better.

How about the ability to turn an image cue into a text one with a right click real fast? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wished for that. The image was in place, but suddenly, they need it to have text over it on stage.

And my perennial request is a big one: direct support of Quicktime file types without having to reconfigure anything, download special stuff, or mess with codecs. Charge me an extra $20 to license it from Apple if that’s what it costs. We just want it to work seamlessly. The extra $20 is not going to lose a sale. Not having native support of Quicktime files _will_ lose sales. This one moves further up my list of Features Needed every year. And it’s perilously close to the line of stuff I just can’t do without.

I strongly feel that the number one priority should be allowing non-text elements on the stage display. It is vital for speakers to see their powerpoint presentations and is time consuming to reenter all the text. This should be fixed at least by version 5 but ideally much sooner.

Fix the Text resizing on text cues. Make a darken feature for backgrounds on text cues that have a slider from 0 – 100%. Make Quicktime directly supported. Make a custom and default stanza order for lyric cues. Fix the many other bugs in MS4.

When you open audio cue in audio deck have it open next time you start MS4. I want to be able to use the same audio cues in audio deck week after week with out having to open them each week.
