Make Christmas Eve an Irresistible Invitation This Year

Come Home for Christmas

What is it about Christmas? There is something beneath the zeal with which we go about buying gifts and excessively decorating every year.

Maybe it has something to do with recapturing childhood magic. Churched or unchurched, almost everyone can relate to the wonder of Christmas Eve anticipation.

Of course, we in the church know the spirit of Christmas is found in Jesus’ birth. For the unchurched, however, the “day after” feeling is inevitable.

This year, use the pull of the season for kingdom purposes. Extend a special invitation to your community to move beyond the annual letdown and Come Home For Christmas.

We’ve got the video available by itself for the first time for only $15, or for only $30 (regularly $75!) through November 20, get a bunch of additional stuff including:

Some possible creative applications of the theme include…

With its creative emphasis on home, a variety of interesting parallels can be drawn with the idea of home and faith. Traditional Christmas songs such as “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” demonstrate the ongoing human need for family and security during the holidays, and can provide a great base from which to share the good news. More contemporary songs such as “Home” by Daughtry also capture the same spirit.

The original Home Alone film has a wonderful scene of the old man and the kid talking in church about family and forgiveness which makes a good thematic setup. Or consider an original on-the-street video asking the question, “What Does Home Mean to You?” For more ideas, refer to the Creative Guide for worship.

Also, don’t forget our other Christmas resource on sale through November 13, Personal Connection.
