I saw on the Mediashout site that they are also offering a special deal on a device for us portable folk who use a laptop. I think it gave more video output options. Do you folks have access to that device as well.

As of right now, Jeff, no, but in the morning we will inquire about it. Thanks for asking.

Yeah its called the ViBook, a USB to external monitor connection for adding displays to your laptop/pc. It seems pretty simple, yet effective.

I believe Mediashout is offering a coupon towards this on their site. FYI.

Thanks Jason for the tip. We’ll confirm with MediaShout on this when the business day begins.

By the way, we’ve had some folks write in and ask if this is really true considering MediaShout hasn’t made an official announcement yet. That?Äôs certainly a legitimate question. All we know is that we were given the go-ahead from MediaShout to make our announcement around 2:45cst. They started shipping pre-orders yesterday. So yes, it’s really true!

Is there a “what’s new” document that details the new features and bug fixes? I would like to see this before we commit to upgrade.

To confirm above, yes, the product is called a Vi-Book. We’re in discussions with MediaShout about offering it here.

Jason, on what’s new, there’s a lot. Hard to quantify everything, but we wrote a short synopsis on a separate post here:

I had pre-ordered the upgrade from Media Complete. I called them to cancel that order in light of your offer. They told me I couldn’t be sure your offer was for real. Can you confirm the price and extras?

    Hey Tony,

Yes, it’s for real. We have a long-standing relationship with MediaComplete Corporation – since 2002. We just started this offer for $200 in free resources. To see what is included in the resource bundle, click here:

    http://www.midnightoilproductions.com/training/software/200-free-media-included/

You will receive a link to download this bundle on purchase. We will only be offering this $200 package on the upgrade for a limited time, after which it will be reduced to a $100 value.

If you have questions about the MediaShout offer, contact Mona Corley at [mona at mediashout.com]. She is a great lady, our contact there, and will confirm the “real”-ness of our offer! :)

Great! When are you able to ship V4?

    Hey Tony,

Received word from MediaShout this morning that there was a bug in the first release which delayed shipping but that has been resolved. All orders placed through Midnight Oil will ship tomorrow.

Is Media shout compatible with Matrox video cards?

  14. Len said,

    This is from MediaShout:

One important requirement with MediaShout is using DirectX 9 or higher.
Matrox cards for some reason don’t seemed designed to handle high end
graphic usage required for MediaShout. Users have best results with VRam
128 or higher. If a church is wanting to use High Def, MediaShout is
capable of handling HD content as long as the graphics card is capable of
handling it. It would require a high end video card such as a NVIDIA GeForce
9800GT, GTX 280 or an ATI Radeon HD 3870, HD 4800 series.

When I traveled to many events, I would hear from users that had Matrox
cards that as soon as they changed their graphics card, MediaShout worked
    great. I wouldn’t recommend it.

So I think the short answer is no. Hope that helps.

Our church has just been given a new video system. We have no idea where to start as far as software. What do you recommend? I’ve looked into Mediashout 4. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

    Tom,

My apologies for this. Your comment slipped past us and I just now found it. We are sending out a news item overnight that addresses this issue. We think both MediaShout 4 and EasyWorship are great. Different users have their preferences, but they are like the Coke and Pepsi of the PC worship software world. So try them both out.
